The School of Information has faculty, staff, and students located on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th floors of the Leinweber building.
We also have space at The Engagement Center 777 North University (above Panera) and The Collegian, 333 Maynard.

Faculty should be aware that the Leinweber building has an automatic door and elevator locking and unlocking schedule. If you teach in the morning or in the late afternoon or evening you will need your MCard to (re)enter the building.

All faculty are assigned office space. Space allocations are at the discretion of the Associate Dean for Faculty and Professor of Information. For part-time lecturers, various rooms at UMSI can be reserved to use during your office hours.

The lounges on 3rd and 4th floors are both open for all faculty, staff, doctoral students, postdocs, and visitors. Mixing between members of these different groups is encouraged. The 5th floor lounge is also a good place to use as a hoteling workspace for staff, faculty and students.

UMSI Faculty mailboxes are located xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The mailbox is for USPS and campus mail as well as a place for students to drop off assignments.
An office key will be provided at no cost. Upon completion of employment, the key must be returned to our facilities office. Card readers are on exterior doors, elevators, and classrooms. Use the MCard with card readers, particularly in the evening and week-ends.
If you are new to the University, you will need to obtain an MCard. This card provides you with discounts on campus as well as access to Leinweber during locked hours, University of Michigan School of Information (UMSI) classrooms, and other meeting rooms that are on a key card access system. If your MCard has expired but you are still employed at the University, you can take your MCard card to one of the MCard locations found on their website.
