Management Team Criteria

Policy:

To be included on the Management Team at the University of Michigan School of Information, staff must meet all of the following criteria as articulated by the Leadership Team:

1. Director of an Independently Budgeted Functional Unit

   • The individual must serve as the director of a functional unit that has its own budget, which is officially recognized and established by the school.

2. Reports to a Member of the Leadership Team

   • The individual must report directly to a member of the School's Leadership Team.

3. Has Direct Reports

   • The individual must have direct supervisory responsibility over one or more staff members.

Additionally, individuals may be included on the Management Team by special appointment by the Dean. This appointment is at the discretion of the Dean and does not require the individual to meet the other criteria listed above.
